White Oak has earned its reputation over centuries. Dense, durable, and naturally rot resistant thanks to its high tannin content. Today it remains one of the most trusted choices for beautiful, long lasting hardwood floors. Our version takes that heritage and blends it with a mountain modern rustic appearance.
What Makes This Flooring Different
Our White Oak is a thick engineered product built for both performance and character. Each 8-inch wide plank features a ¼″ solid White Oak wear layer over a stable ½″ plywood core, giving you a true ¾″ overall thickness. That substantial wear layer means the floor can be refinished multiple times, the same longevity you’d expect from solid hardwood, while the cross ply construction stabilizes movement throughout the Rocky Mountain Wests extreme temperature variations.
The boards are salvaged from lower grade live sawn white oak lumber that were destined for a land fill or burned. Live sawing is an efficient and traditional milling method that captures a rich mix of grain patterns and natural character across every face. We epoxy fill all the voids, mill a tongue and groove on all four sides, and pre-finish the flooring with a durable no/low VOC UV-cured aluminum oxide matte finish.
