We don’t have many secrets here at Sustainable Lumber Company, we’re pretty much an open book. We’re not a large optimized state-of-the-art flooring manufacturer producing millions of square feet, nor do we want to be. We’re a humble family owned “boutique” manufacture custom crafting each floor per order. For example, we could produce what large manufactures call a “hand scraped” floor, which is actually scraped by a machine. Instead we craft a REAL hand scraped wood flooring by a living, breathing, hard working human being who actually cares what it looks like. After individually hand scraping each board, we then hand sand and pre-finish by hand rubbing penetrating oils deep into the grain. Technology and automation are good things but it’s hard to replicate the real thing!
Produced from salvaged and SFI Certified Douglas Fir and custom kiln dried to 6-8% moisture content. Tongue & groove on all 4 sides, quality crafted, hand scraped, hand sanded, hand rubbed penetrating oils, and factory prefinished. Graded to our 99% usable specifications and ready to install.
