Sustainable Lumber Company

SUSTAINABLE BY DEFINITION:

Sustainable (səˈsteɪnəb ə l) – capable of being maintained at a steady level without exhausting natural resources or causing severe ecological damage.

We at Sustainable Lumber Company believe in using our natural resources as long as we continue to manage them in a sustainable way.  We are very proud to be one of the only companies in the world that finds value in something that will ultimately go to waste.  Our Beetle Killed Pine and Douglas Fir logs are sourced from 100% salvaged and/or Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) certified timber. Salvaged timber are trees that are standing dead in the forest due to insect infestation or wild fires.  Our timber cruzers do an extensive evaluation of the areas that will be harvested.  We target only trees that still have value and leave the majority of dead trees for animal habitat and to naturally decompose to replenish the soil with nutrients for future healthy forests.

Forest fires and insect epidemics are naturally occurring events.  By selectively harvesting logs after these events, mother nature guarantees us an all natural sustainable supply.
