Wide Plank Rustic White Oak Flooring

Yes. White Oak is one of the more water resistant domestic hardwoods, and paired with our No-VOC UV-cured Aluminum Oxide finish, it holds up well against everyday kitchen spills as long as you clean them up. It isn't meant for standing water, so keep a mat by the sink and dishwasher.

Our wide plank White Oak flooring is an impressive 3/4″ overall engineered thickness, consisting of a substantial 1/4″ thick wear layer on top a sturdy 1/2″ plywood base.

We offer White Oak in five finishes:
Natural (lightly brushed, the truest to the wood's natural tone), Fumed (a warm, deepened tone from the fuming process), Highland (circle sawn texture with visible saw marks), Prairie (circle sawn with a different tonal base), and Vintage (a distressed, reclaimed look).
Ordering samples of your top two or three picks is the best way to see how each will actually look in your space.

Our 1/4" wear layer is thicker than the 1 to 2mm veneers found on most budget engineered floors, which usually only allow a light recoat rather than a full sand and refinish. The extra material means White Oak can be sanded and refinished multiple times (as many as you'll ever need) over its life.

We use a No-VOC UV-cured Aluminum Oxide clear matte finish.

At 1360 on the Janka scale, White Oak is harder than many domestic species used in flooring, and the Aluminum Oxide finish adds scratch resistance on top of that. Keep pet nails trimmed and use felt pads under furniture, and it will hold its look through years of daily use.

Most orders will ship via a common carrier like FedEx. This method is designated for large orders shipped factory direct from our facility. Orders will deliver via a box semi truck.
The product will require to be unloaded with a lift gate, fork lift, dock, or hand unload if a fork lift or dock is unavailable.

Once the product leaves Sustainable Lumber Co., it is the carriers responsibility to deliver the product undamaged. In the unlikely event that damage does occur during shipment we recommend that you reject the order and contact us ASAP.
If damages are found after the driver leaves, take detailed clear pictures and notify Sustainable Lumber Co. immediately by phone or email.

Sweep or vacuum with the beater bar off, and damp mop with a hardwood safe cleaner as needed. Avoid steam mops, vinegar, and oil soaps, which can dull the finish over time. Felt pads under furniture and mats at exterior doors help keep the floor scratch free.

Engineered floors, like our rustic White Oak engineered flooring, consist of multiple wood sheets bonded together. This cross ply construction arranges the layers in opposing directions to enhance stability, effectively protecting against moisture issues.
The arrangement allows the planks to expand and contract in such a way that reduces cupping and crowning when exposed to different humidity levels.
