Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS ENGINEERED FLOORING?

Engineered floors, like our rustic white oak engineered flooring, consist of multiple wood sheets bonded together. This cross ply construction arranges layers in opposing directions to enhance stability and protect against moisture issues. The arrangement lets planks expand and contract in a way that limits cupping and crowning during humidity changes.

Thanks to this versatile design, engineered floors can be installed anywhere in the home, from basements to concrete slabs. They can be stapled, glued, nailed, or floated over an existing subfloor.

HOW THICK IS THE WEAR LAYER?

This exceptional wide plank flooring is an impressive 3/4″ overall engineered thickness, consisting of a substantial 1/4″ thick wear layer atop a sturdy 1/2″ plywood base.

WHAT KIND OF FINISH IS USED ON THIS FLOORING?

We use a No-VOC UV-cured Aluminum Oxide clear matte finish.

WHAT IS ALUMINUM OXIDE FINISH?

When choosing wood flooring, durability and lasting beauty are high up there on the priority list. An aluminum oxide finish delivers on both, which is why our Rustic White Oak Flooring uses it.

Durability and Scratch Resistance: Aluminum oxide is one of the hardest substances known, forming a tough protective layer that resists scratches, scuffs, and wear. This makes it ideal for high-traffic areas and homes with pets and kids.

Color Preservation: Built-in UV inhibitors shield the wood from sunlight, keeping its color and warmth from fading over time.

Easy Maintenance: The finish resists stains and daily wear, so regular sweeping and cleaning keep floors looking great without constant refinishing.

Longevity and Value: Superior scratch and wear resistance means less need for refinishing or replacement, saving time and money over the life of the floor.

Aesthetics: A subtle sheen enhances the wood's natural depth and complements both modern and traditional interiors.

Indoor Air Quality: Aluminum oxide finishes are hypoallergenic and don't promote mold or bacteria growth, supporting a healthier home.

HOW WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?

Most large orders ship factory direct via common carrier (like FedEx) using a box semi truck. You'll need to unload with a lift gate, forklift, dock, or by hand if no equipment is available. Residential deliveries require ample room for the truck to maneuver and go to your driveway or roadside; in high traffic areas, the carrier will contact you to coordinate a safe drop location. Commercial addresses ship more economically than residential.

Once product leaves our facility, the carrier is responsible for damage-free delivery. If you receive damaged goods, reject the order, note the damage on the delivery receipt, and contact us immediately. If damage is discovered after the driver leaves, take clear photos and notify us right away by phone or email.
