Making Douglas Fir Flooring, Great Again!

Posted: August 19, 2019

Known world wide for it’s superior stability and durability, Douglas Fir has been a preferred wood species for flooring throughout the Rocky Mountain West for over a century. Douglas Fir has the highest strength to weight ratio of any wood species. It has been used throughout the US since the 1800′s, and is often found in classic historic homes on the East Coast. Natural rot and decay characteristics makes Douglas Fir an excellent choice in all building applications.

We specialize in prefinished textured flooring, which is great for commercial locations, restaurants, bars, or any high traffic area. The natural rough texture of Doug Fir wood flooring hides the inevitable dent, ding, and scratch and will last years without having to refinish.

With a 200 year old proven track record, old barns, granaries, and western structures contain Douglas Fir that has withstood the test of time. Many of these old structures are currently being reclaimed, and the wood re-manufactured into flooring which will extend the life for another generation. Our streamlined manufacturing and factory direct sales and shipping reduces costs and passes the savings onto our customers. All of our durable wood flooring is manufactured from salvaged timber and SFI Certified wood harvested within 100 mile radius of our facility, which keeps transportation costs at a minimum. Drying, milling, grading, and pre-finishing are done at one location prior to shipping factory direct anywhere in the U.S. Check out our wire brushed, circular sawn and hand scraped Douglas Fir wood floors.
