Making Douglas Fir Flooring, Great Again!

Posted: August 19, 2019

Known around the world for its superior stability and durability, Douglas Fir has been the preferred wood species for flooring throughout the Rocky Mountain West for over a century. Douglas Fir is a durable wood flooring that has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any wood species. It has been used throughout the US since the 1800s and is often found in classic historic homes on the East Coast. The natural rot and decay characteristics found in Douglas Fir make it an excellent choice for all building applications.

We specialize in prefinished textured flooring, which is great for commercial locations, restaurants, bars, or any high-traffic area. The natural rough texture of these durable hardwood floors hides the inevitable dent, ding, and scratch and will last years without having to refinish.

With a 200-year-old proven track record, old barns, granaries, and western structures contain Douglas Fir that has withstood the test of time. Many of these old structures are currently being reclaimed, and the wood is remanufactured into durable wood flooring which will extend the life for another generation. Our streamlined manufacturing and factory-direct sales and shipping reduce costs and pass the savings on to our customers. All of our durable wood flooring is manufactured from salvaged timber and SFI-Certified wood harvested within a 100-mile radius of our facility, which keeps transportation costs at a minimum. Drying, milling, grading, and pre-finishing are done at one location prior to shipping factory-direct anywhere in the U.S. Check out our wire-brushed, circular-sawn, and hand-scraped Douglas Fir wood floors. We offer durable hardwood floors in a variety of options.
