Why rough sawn flooring is a great option.

Posted: April 22, 2019

Circular-sawn, rustic-sawn, skip planed, kerf-sawn, distressed, foot-worn, and rough-sawn are just some of the lumber texture flooring terms you’ll find when searching for rustic Douglas Fir wood flooring. We simply call it our Mountain Collection.

The best thing about a rough-sawn lumber texture is it simply hides everything. Our combination of circular-sawn kerfs, skip planing, wire-brushing, and sanding produces a texture that merely hides the inevitable scratch, ding, or dent. We tell our customers to drop a Costco-sized can of corn on our flooring, walk away, come back, and try to find the dent. It’s there but simply camouflaged within the multiple textures.

Our circular-sawn Douglas Montana Fir flooring is produced from salvaged and SFI Certified Douglas Fir. Custom kiln dried to 6-8% moisture content, circular sawn, skip planed, wire brushed, sanded, tongue & groove on all 4 sides, hand rubbed oils, and factory prefinished. It’s graded to our 99% usable specifications and ready to install. We do all the hard work so you don’t have to. Inquire about our rough-sawn Douglas Fir for sale today.
