What is End-Matched Tongue and Groove Flooring & Paneling?

End-matching is where a piece of flooring or wall paneling has tongue and grooves (T&G) on the ends. This enables the installer to “float” studs or joists and locks each board together on all 4 sides. End-matching creates little to no waste since you don’t have to cut the end of a board to fall perfectly onto a stud or joist. End-matched tongue and groove flooring speed up the installation process, leaving behind less waste and ultimately saving you money.
