HAMILTON – New evacuation warnings have been issued for residents in Ravalli County living near the MeyersFire.

Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton says the evacuation warning is for residents from Forest Service Road 5778 (Teepee Creek) to Forest Service Road 724 (Little East Fork) in the  East Fork area.

Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office deputies are going door-to-door to notify residents of the evacuation warning. Approximately 225 homes are covered by the evacuation warning.

An evacuation order remains in place for the Frog Pond area in Granite County while Moose Lake residents are under an evacuation warning.

Fire managers report that due to near record setting dry conditions, the fire made significant growth, adding 4,800 acres on Monday, primarily in the southwestern part of the fire.

The new fire perimeter has moved past the Ravalli/Granite County line and over the Hole in the Wall area. The blaze, which stands at over 22,300 acres, is burning 25 miles southwest of Philipsburg.

There are 228 people assigned to battle the lightning sparked blaze.
