FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The Portage Crossing commercial development just got a bit brighter with another new tenant opening to the public. Planet Sub opened its doors in the new Cuyahoga Falls development on February 4th, 2015. The development hosts other national tenants like LA Fitness, Cinemark Theater, Starbucks, Chipotle, Burger Fi, and a new Giant Eagle market, along with other national retailers. This is the Kansas City-based brand’s first location in Ohio, which features their new prototype and famous oven-baked sandwiches.Planet Sub Cuyahoga Falls, OH

Planet Sub’s signature bread recipe is in full effect with their commercial mixer, proofer, and baking table all in full view of the customers; a staple in all of their locations. Fresh-made bread is one of the key differentiators central to the brand. Steve Ryan, Regional Development Manager, spoke to the differences between Planet Sub and other brands in the segment stating, “What hooked us was the difference in their definition of the word “fresh”; it’s better than everyone else’s definition of fresh, in that it actually is fresh. The product quality is excellent.”

Planet Sub, or “PSUB” as it is often called by their fans, slices their meats cheeses, and veggies daily, and serves made-to-order salads, wraps, and soups. The Cuyahoga Falls location is also a part of the company’s pilot Gluten Free bread program which means celiacs will have the option to substitute their bread for a handmade gluten-free alternative, made daily in the store.

Trevor Forssell, Director of Marketing, said, “Now that distribution is set in the region, we will be pursuing development in other areas, such as Columbus, Cincinnati, and really looking for folks who want to open multiple units.”

The Ohio-based franchise group (Rymaker Enterprises LLC.) has committed to 4 additional stores in the area. Based on strong opening sales, Steve Ryan indicated that the group could begin looking for their next store within 4 months and is also considering purchasing additional territory to develop further north into Cleveland.
